At The Reefs | SOLD | 24" x 30"
A painting of the original entrance to The Reefs Hotel. The palm forms an important counter balance to the white shutter and large white portions of the chimney.
Bird in the Bush | SOLD | 12" x 10"
A small study of a complex Bird of Paradise with an unusual number of orange petals. It was the first of a number of smaller paintings that I started to produce for this show.
Bird of Paradise | SOLD | 24" x 30"
A painting of a Bird of Paradise plant in my yard. I chose to focus on only one of the blooms in order to frame it with the green of the leaves and provide a sense of depth.
Blue Shutter | SOLD | 40" x 32"
This is a shutter on a building that is adjacent to Darrell's Wharf. I was drawn to the contrast of the whites in the window and interior blinds against the blue of the shutter.
Cedar Door | SOLD | 10" x 12"
A focus on another part of the house featured in my "Afternoon" comission. The semi-circular window shade was a bit of a challenge, but it ll worked out in the end!
City Hall | SOLD | 24" x 36"
I seem to always come back to paintings that involve multiple values of white, although I am not sure why! This painting has about eight mixed values of white.

This is a view of the Victualling Yard at the Royal Naval Dockyard in Somerset. The empty shells of the buildings in a once bustling quartermaster area are filled with colour.
Inverurie | SOLD | 10" x 12"
The old Inverurie Hotel has been converted into condominiums, and this is one very simple corner of the complex. I was drawn to the yellow of the building.

A painting of my house featuring some midday sun coming across the front of the building. The low viewing angle allows us to see through the shutters to the windows behind.
Palmetto | SOLD | 10" x 12"
One of my favorite palm paintings. I never made plans to make a larger version, as I felt the structure of the palm and the glow in the middle suited the smaller presentation.
Poinsettia | Available | $2,300 | 24" x 30"
The plant is reduced to a pattern of green leaves and two blooms, similar in its aproach to "Bird of Pardise". This symbol of a green Christmas is a favorite of my wife Deanne.
Through the Bay Grape | SOLD | 40" x 32"
This painting was a challenge to render the various colours found on a bay grape plant in mid summer season. I seem to be constantly brought back to painting bay grapes!
